  • understand the needs and values that you want to tend to in 2025

  • make plans for action steps to meet those needs, noting steps you can take on your own and where/how you can get support

Toward the end of the second hour, you will have a chance to hear and share insights discovered during the process. You’ll also receive guiding questions for further reflection.

Online workshop: Creating Conversations that Connect- Ideological Edition

Online workshop: Creating Conversations that Connect- Ideological Edition

Many of us feel the divisiveness of our time. We long to talk about issues and topics that are important to us with people- especially family members and friends- who may see things differently, but we’re afraid that doing so will break connection and create irreparable discord.

How do we move from “us” and “them” to a sense of shared vision?

This 2-hour online workshop introduces a framework for finding connection in challenging conversations about ideological issues that are important to us.* Learn to identify, honor, and express yourself with clarity, honesty, and integrity. Using these strategies opens possibilities for win-win outcomes.

The workshop includes:

  • An outline of the framework

  • Introduction of strategies

  • Modeling of the practices, with particular focus on conversations about issues

  • Skills and resources to use immediately

This workshop will be recorded. The recording will be available for viewing for 2 weeks after the workshop.

The Standard Contribution Level is $44. The Pay-It-Forward Contribution Level is $66 (this contribution level supports scholarships for this or future events). The Scholarship Contribution Level (limited in number) is $22. Please consider mindfully what you are able to contribute.

You may pay with a card while registering or use the code PAYOFFLINE to pay via Venmo, Zelle, or with cash.

Add an optional practice session December 9 for $33/$16 scholarship. Because of the vulnerable nature of the conversations, the practice session will not be recorded.

If you are looking for tools for conversations of a more interpersonal nature (navigating challenging conversations in the home, for example), more workshops and classes are coming in early 2025!

The Artist's Way Fall 2024

I am a creative work in progress. Julia Cameron’s The Artist’s Way, a 12-week process of creative recovery, has been an instrumental tool in helping me get out of my own way. I've gone through the process multiple times by myself and accompanied groups through it, the last time being in early 2020.

Each time the process has been rich and led to new discoveries, insights, and steps on the creative path. Each time I have deepened my self-understanding and expanded my creative practices. Journeying through The Artist’s Way with others has amplified the elements of play, depth, curiosity, and inspiration. I am ready to share The Artist’s Way with others again.

If you are looking for a reset...

If you are wanting to connect with play and wonder...

If you are longing for deep connections with yourself and others...

Join me starting in August as we explore The Artist's Way.

Early Bird rate available through July 31!

Creating Conversations that Connect: Tools for Difficult Conversations

Many of us deeply feel the divisiveness of our time. We long to have bridge-building conversations and yet when we try, we often end up frustrated, angry, dismayed. We want to be true to our values and to have fruitful conversations; sometimes it feels impossible to do both.

What are ways to maintain connection so that both parties have a chance to speak honestly and be heard?

How do we move from “us” and “them” to a greater sense of shared vision?

How do we cultivate win-win conversations?

This 2-hour training introduces a framework to express yourself with clarity, authenticity and understanding during challenging conversations- at home, in the workplace, or anywhere else.

The training includes:

  • An outline of the framework

  • Introduction of strategies

  • Modeling of the practices

  • Discussion

These strategies open possibilities for win-win outcomes. The training is perfect for individuals wanting tools to connect across divides, whether personal or ideological; teams wanting a common framework for communication; and anyone else wanting to cultivate greater connection in conversations.

This workshop is offered by the Nazareth Retreat Center and registration is through the Nazareth website. Cost of the training is $40. Some scholarships available.
