Celebrate with Me!
/Dear friends,
Tomorrow I celebrate 50 years of being alive, but in truth, I've been celebrated and celebrating since January. Starting on January 11, friends and family have conspired to give me the fullest birthday celebration I've ever had, with different people celebrating my birthday with me for the last 50 days. Each day has brought surprise and delight as someone(s) new has taken the time to love me in some special way. While that part of the celebration will end, I have other plans to continue celebrating even after tomorrow.
Receiving and receiving in this consistent way has been overwhelming in the most glorious sense of the word, leaving me dripping with gratitude. In all truth, it has also brought up regret for not celebrating some other people with the same care that I am being celebrated; I want to do differently. I wish all people were honored so fully and I want to be a part of making that happen.
A couple of days ago a friend posted this on Facebook:
I move that we create Milestone Day. A day when we celebrate personal accomplishments & milestones. Because no matter who you are or what you do, you’ve accomplished some things. It would be a GREAT day – we’d greet one another with a high five. Maybe a pat on the back or a “congrats.” On Milestone Day, we don’t necessarily declare our milestones to one another – after all, they may be personal … things we do for ourselves, perhaps BY ourselves: Making a difficult, but right decision. Reaching a health-related goal (or simply committing to a goal). A sobriety milestone. Or simply getting up and going each morning.
No matter who you are, you’ve accomplished something. Who doesn’t need a day to be reminded of this?
While I know some people are exuberant celebrators (as evidence, just look at the picture above and all the cards I'm holding, the ones on the mantle behind me, and the headband I'm wearing), I suspect that some of you are like me, not always marking your own or others' milestones well, but rather moving onto the next thing without honoring the significance of something that has happened or that you've achieved.
The question arises: Why limit our celebration? Why not celebrate every sweet thing?
Here in Kentucky daffodils and crocuses are blooming. Soon more trees and flowers will burst into luscious and vibrant color. Would we ever want to restrict the generous beauty of it all? If the answer is no, then why would we want to limit or stifle the generous honoring of beautiful human experiences?
What if we had a Milestone Day?
What personal milestone(s) would you celebrate?
Who else's accomplishments would you like to lift up and reflect back to them?
I'd love to know.

To honor my 50th year milestone business-style, I have two offers and a request:
Offer 1: Through March 11, buy two 2nd edition Cards for Remembering Decks, get a third for 50% off- that's $24 in savings! Go here and use the coupon code BIRTHDAY when you check out.
Offer 2: OR also through March 11, when you spend $40 or more on decks, prints, and/or original art, use the code BDAYFREESHIP to get, you guessed it, free delivery or shipping. All of my available art isn't up on the page. I'll add more over the coming days, but you can also see some of it on Instagram or Facebook.
Request: If you have taken a workshop or class that has been valuable to you, if you have a Cards for Remembering deck that gives you just the messages you need, if you have a Heart Portrait or Heart Sketch that shows you just how beautiful your heart is, if my writing speaks to you, please tell someone(s) about my work- forward this email, share my Facebook or Instagram pages, or tell them in a good ol' regular conversation. My gratitude is already like a chocolate cake with white icing (my personal favorite). This would be like adding sugar roses and other fancy embellishments to the cake! Thank you so much for considering this request!
Along with all the birthday fun, I have a number of events coming up in March! Starting a week from tomorrow on March 9, my 4-week online Compassionate Communication class, Meeting in the Field of Connection, begins. Tomorrow, March 2, is the last day to get the early bird registration rate!
I'll be at Saturdays with Spirit on March 11, and am offering an in-person workshop, Creating Conversations that Connect, at The Inner Warrior on March 25. Want to see all events at once? Go here to see all the details. I'd love to see you this month!
In gratitude and celebration,
Cory
P.S. If you missed my interview with Michaela Daystar last week, you can check it out here: Reiki Crossroads & Connections. We talk about intersections of energy work, art, peacemaking, mysticism, and more!
